LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy has hinted for years that he wanted to end the LCD project while he still loved/enjoyed it. That time has come. On Friday LCD Soundsystem Tweeted, “our last ever show @ madison square garden NYC on april 2… just saying…” On their website the band elaborated further on what will likely be an amazing goodbye party:
good people of earth:
lcd soundsystem are playing madison square garden on april 2nd, and it will be our last show ever. we are retiring from the game. gettin’ out. movin’
on. but for just one more night, we will be playing with friends and family for nearly 3 hours–playing stuff we’ve never played before and going out with a bang. and we’d like you to be there.
James Murphy and co. are asking all in attendance to dress in either black or white, and to show up early to catch the opening act, Liquid Liquid. Tickets go on sale 2/11 via Bowery Presents and Ticketmaster, but there’s also a fan pre-sale earlier, details will be on Pitchfork and LCD Soundsystem’s website tomorrow.

Nooooooooo!
Oh noes. I honestly loved every single thing they ever put out. It really was a lot of fun while it lasted. After seeing their performance on ACL, I’d love to go to the April 2nd show.
you stay classy James Murphy
