As much as we hate to highlight incomplete audio previews, the AC remix of “Zero” (from a forthcoming 7″) is so anticipated, you’ll probably appreciate a teaser. Listen to sixty seconds at boomkat. (H/T GvsB.)

  1. I love both of them. But come on. It’s awful.

    I can dig!

  3. I like how they screwed with the pitch of Karen O’s voice, but the song sucks mostly judging by this preview.

  5. boo remixes (for the most part)

  6. Oh, so when AC does it it’s not “superfluous, subpar or unnecessary?”

to be honest, that sucked, as much as a sixty second sample can, realizing it’s for the most part not an accurate reflection of the song as a whole. but i don’t understand that fucking gary glitter that everyone from yyy/ac to m ward have been using lately.

Sounds like they took some unfinished not-good-enough-for-a-b-side tracks and ran the vocals over it. Then messed with the pitch on the vocals.

Nothing here complements anything else. The two halves dont even seem aware of each other.

    Oh wait………who is this?
Oh Im sorry, I didnt realize it I was Animal Collective.

What I MEANT to say is that its a paradigm shifting experiment in youthful ennui and textured, layered post-indie musings.

It’s obviously not only the best remix of 2009, but quite possibly one of the greatest “sounds” ever made as well, up there with the song of the finch and the laughter of newborns. Every day is brighter just knowing that this remix exists.

Whoa! A bunch of clinky sounds, standard electro bass lines and sequencing buried in reverb? Didn’t see that coming!

This is a whole lot better than their Ratatat and Goldfrapp remixes — that’s not saying much, though, since those were awful.

Sounds like they took the original and submerged it underwater, until it drowned.

  12. I’m torn. I like Animal Collective. I don’t like Yeah Yeah Yeahs. These feelings are confusing.

  13. Damn! What did they do to it? I wonder what the rest of the remix sounds like. I like the original song. Not sure what to think of this.

  14. I remember when the YYYs rocked the shit out me.

  15. Sucks if you wasted your money just to get this!

    HAHA!

  17. I’m tired of Animal Collective. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again (and consequently get voted down again). Animal Collective is over-rated. Accept it and get over it.
