We reported the progress on Death Cab For Cutie’s upcoming Codes And Keys album, and we’ve also brought you the title track. Now you can check out the cover art (above) and track list (below). I believe that cover is a close-up of a pay phone, a device kids used to call their parents to come pick them up at the end of the 20th century. The tracklist:
01 “Home Is A Fire”
02 “Codes And Keys”
03 “Some Boys”
04 “Doors Unlocked And Open”
05 “You Are A Tourist”
06 “Unobstructed Views”
07 “Monday Morning”
08 “Portable Television”
09 “Underneath The Sycamore”
10 “St “Peter’s Cathedral”
11 “Stay Young, Go Dancing”
Codes And Key is out 5/31.

Can’t decide whether this looks really bad or really good.
A little plain, but not quite as beautiful a way as with Transatlanticism. As we all know codes and keys typically lock and unlock things, so it’s an interesting play on the word/meaning with the image of a keypad.
I’m withholding all my criticism until Pitchfork says it’s okay.
