Add Glasser, aka L.A. resident Cameron Mesirow (with assistance from Foreign Born’s Matt Popieluch), to the list of danceable one-man (Blank Dogs) and one-woman (Dum Dum Girls) bedroom projects (we’re not counting black metal here, of course, Malefic). The fit’s not entirely correct, but you’ll find some scene overlaps. It’s even more telling she’s played shows with Vuk, who’s in her top MySpace friends: There’s something Kate Bush, Broadway Musical, and super compositional about her home recordings. The highly percussive “Apply” and more down-turned “Glad” show up on the A-Side of the forthcoming self-titled True Panther 12″ along with “Learn.” On the B-Side you’ll find remixes by the very busy Lucky Dragons, Tanlines, and John Talabot. Until then, dive in (sorry):

You’ll find a Chairlift remix of “Apply,” and some other tracks, at her MySpace.

The “Apply” 12″ is out 5/26 via True Panther. Note: “The limited edition 12″ packaging features a 3-layer silkscreened op-art spinning wheel designed by the one and only Tauba Auerbach.” See:

Foreign Born is a phenomenal band. Can’t wait for the new album.

  2. Foreign Born has that one song that I really like, “Union Hall.” I just pre-ordered the Glasser ep, “Apply” is fantastic.
