We couldn’t believe it either, but it’s been 15 years to the week since R.E.M. first released Automatic For The People. So to celebrate the critical and commercial favorite’s decade-and-a-half anniversary, we invited some of our favorite indie rockers — including the Wrens, Rogue Wave, Shout Out Louds, Sara Quin of Tegan & Sara (here joined by Kaki King), Dr. Dog, and Meat Puppets — to contribute to a track-by-track covers compilation.
