Hyperdub label head Kode9 stopped into the Benji B’s BBC show and played lots of forthcoming music from his label, though as the self-described “Burial purist” says (presumably in response to those “Ego”/”Mirror” collabs with Thom Yorke and Four Tet, but also because Untrue came ages ago): it’s nice to hear some new solo Burial material. “Street Halo” and “Stolen Dog” are two of the songs on Burial’s forthcoming 12″, due next week, both pitching lady vocals into an understated and rumbling spook/sadness matrix. Check ’em:

Burial’s new 12″ is due 3/28 via Hyperdub.

If you missed these, here are two tracks Burial’s did with Thom Yorke and Four Tet:

  1. Glad they talked over most of that fantastic track – oh and the second one too, brilliant.

    • Who listens to a show like that? I really couldn’t bear how bad it was on those two tracks if I was actually listening to it on the radio. In fact I just turned off during the second track because it was too frustrating. If it was the radio live I would have turned off there and then. Ratings down one listener.

  2. Sounds really interesting. Cannot wait to hear it without those lame insertions made by the radio host

  3. God, I missed this guy so much.

  4. Now, I love me a good Burial, but I’m not going to ruin these songs for me when there’s talking throughout the track.
