According to the NME, Arcade Fire played a surprise concert in Port-Au-Prince on Tuesday night, performing a dozen songs over 45 minutes at the Hotel Oloffson. Arcade Fire’s connections to Haiti have always been strong, but their fund-raising for the country became even more urgent after the country’s January 2010 earthquake.
Their set included covers of songs by Credence Clearwater Revival, the Rolling Stones, Cyndi Lauper, and The Paragons, and ended with “Haiti” and “Wake Up.” According to Rolling Stone the band are in town to help produce a DVD with RAM, a Haitian band lead by the owner of the Hotel Oloffson.
