Arcade Fire Coachella

Arcade Fire, “The Wilderness Downtown” director Chris Milk, and The Creators Project teamed up to create a giant, audience-wide installation during the last few songs of Arcade Fire’s Coachella set. The live interactive piece is called “Summer Into Dust.” Designers created giant balls with embedded LEDs and IR transmitters that could make the orbs light up and change color in synchronization. Audience members could also take the balls home and log onto the Summer Into Dust site to get a user’s manual for their new magic ball. Here’s a brief interview with Chris Milk about the project:
