Radiohead’s “newspaper album” version of The King Of Limbs has begun to reach some doorsteps according to the messageboard at ateaseweb. This deluxe package — which is something different than Radiohead’s newspaper The Universal Sigh even though it does include a Radiohead newspaper — features two clear 10″ vinyl records, a CD, and “many large sheets of artwork, 625 tiny pieces of artwork and a full-colour piece of oxo-degradeable plastic to hold it all together.” Some early recipients on the forum are complaining that the artwork is too brittle. Others are wondering if it can get you high…

Ok, I know this sounds insane, but has anybody tried, you know, dropping one of the “acid” tabs?

What if this entire album was just a buildup to sending out MASSIVE quantities of acid all around the world? And this is the last Radiohead album because they are going to be arrested for it, but only after opening up everyone’s minds to a new dimension of personal exploration?

Maybe TKOL 2 is a 14 hour trip into a parallel universe?!! And you can hear the present tense there!!!

Maybe. While we wait for confirmation check out some photos of the collection that have been shared by fans. You can also order a copy at thekingoflimbs.com.

  1. A word about this. This was promised to be the world’s first “newspaper” album and while it certainly contains a newspaper, I believe Jethro Tull’s 1972 album “Thick as a Brick” was the first. I love it all the same.

  2. Well, seems like another disappointment … I was hoping for some kind of bonus cd or something, like it was with In Raindows deluxe edition… especially since the album itself is quite boring. Oh well, at keast i was lucky enought t get Supercollider.

  3. I thought everyone got The Butcher/Supercollider, no? If you downloaded TKOL you can access the downloads from your order page, right?

  4. I actually have a question about that. If you purchased the album before the day specified, but did so in a store, are you just out of luck?

  5. its really terrible how boring this album is…

    • It’s really terrible how you state your opinion as fact. I loved the album. I’m still not sure about the newspaper thing, but I think they’ve earned the right to be a little indulgent.

  6. Love them…but I don’t get why the greenest band on earth would want to distribute all these bits of paper. And a newspaper? Is it meant to be retro?
