Last night Passion Pit celebrated their debut LP release by cruising New York Harbor on the Rocks Off boat cruise. Rest assured the event was thoroughly Tweeted. Fans boarded the Temptress yacht at 8PM for the three hour tour during which Cambridge’s buzzy synth-pop revivalists entertained with Manners. According to our photographer Natasha Ryan, folks were dancing like crazy, which was probably not easy in this venue, but it wouldn’t have been much of a party otherwise. Yesterday was also frontman’s Michael Angelakos’ 22nd birthday, so that’s explains the cake all over his face towards the end of the photo set. No word if he managed to fuck a mermaid.

Manners is out today via Frenchkiss, and just for the day it’s on sale for $2.99 at Amazon. PP just announced another leg of the tour, so if you live across the pond and love falsetto, check out these dates…

  1. hahahaha – perfect venue for this band of banal yuppies…a yacht.

…and the cum on Stereogum’s face was from sucking this band’s dick. Constantly.

seriously. any more passion pit posts and my mother is going to walk in on me with a gun in my mouth listening to ‘sleepyhead’ screaming “what the fuck are you doing!? don’t kill yourself listening to THIS shit!”. and that’s me screaming. not her.

Stereogum is a website. It does not have a face to cum on.

  3. So do they suck any less live on a boat?

  4. blog commenters are hypocrites  |   Posted on May 19th, 2009

whats up with the backlash? you all were fawning over them last year

  5. Downloaded the album today and am thoroughly happy with it. All the hate here is making me like even more now, thanks dudes. These guys are fun, especially live, and do they really need to be any more then that? Homeboy just turned 22, they’re kids still. They’re like 1 or 2 years away from moving to Brooklyn so writers can open-up their stories with lines like:

“Brooklyn synth-sensation, Passion Pit, brought their unique brand of web 2.0 dance to last night amongst a throng of neon and canned beer….”

Jesus, I’m writing comments like it’s Friday afternoon….back to worky work…

I’d take it in the face for Passion Pit.

    Passion Pit > Animal Collective.

    manners actually is really good

  8. I don’t know if these guys are dicks or whatever but i do know they have a handful of very enjoyable songs.

  9. Can’t say I’m a fan of this band, but their album only $3 on Amazon! And there’s one free MP3 as well, I’m guessing their first single.

I think the hype for this band is absolutely ridiculous. Shame that more talented bands have to struggle when this guys are selling out shows based on hype alone. Oh well, another MGMT.

  10. I wanna slurp on his hair like they’re wet ramen noodles.

  11. i think the frenchkiss is the best label out there and has been for years!

Why even say that? Just gunking up a good website, buddy.
On a cleaner note, the remix for “The Reeling” is excellent, Passion Pit’s got style with the synth, and they get extra points for the boat ;)
