This Month In Kanye

Last we checked in with Kanye West he was closing out Coachella with Justin Vernon. That was four weeks ago. Let’s catch up.

The 64th Annual Cannes Film Festival is underway and among the early winners are anyone who attended Saturday night’s Red Granite Pictures party where the rapper performed. As far as intimate Yeezy shows go, an audience filled with celebrities is par for the course (see last week’s MoMA Party In The Garden benefit, for example), but this show is notable since Jamie Foxx joined in to reprise his “Gold Digger” guest vocals. Below, you can check out a clip while above you can check out the photo of CannesYe Kanoodling with a mystery blonde that drew as many headlines as Terrence Malick’s The Tree Of Life.

In case you missed the Museum of Modern Art party:

Jay-Z showed up later in the set to do “Empire State Of Mind.”

In style news, given that he is one of hip-hop’s more fashion-conscious personalities (he jogs in Lanvin) perhaps it was inevitable Kanye would lend his design sense to a line of €250 silk scarves. Five styles — Power, Phoenix, Face, Ballerina, and Priest — were produced with Parisian designers M/M and are now available for purchase at mmparis.com. Each 35″x35″ piece is 100% silk and available in a limited edition of 100. You’ll recognize the artwork from George Condo’s covers to last year’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Check ‘em all out in the gallery above.

And finally, speaking of West wearables, we’ve got some candid shots of Kanye previewing the forthcoming Nike Air Yeezy 2s. Not pointy enough I say. Though at least they match the scarves.
