My Morning Jacket

The 7th annual Mountain Jam concluded yesterday at Hunter Mountain in NY’s Northern Catskills. The jam band-leaning fest featured sets from Gov’t Mule, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes, Mavis Staples, Warren Haynes, and last night’s headliner My Morning Jacket who can be seen in the attached gallery. Hangover 2 star Zach Galifiankis made the trip to check them out. (“I have been a fan of My Morning Jacket for a number of years,” he told Poughkeepsie Journal. “I saw they were playing here and saw that it close to his house and we came up.”) In other MMJ news, the band’s VH1 Storytellers aired Friday night. If you missed it, or if you were otherwise occupied at Mountain Jam, watch and learn the stories behind “One Big Holiday” (apparently inspired by the Beastie Boys) and “Golden” below.
