Bijou Phillips stars in this surprisingly graphic video for Broken Social Scene’s “Sweetest Kill,” where the actress hacks apart the body of her former lover. It’s kinda like that opening Rick Ross’s scene in “Monster,” except the actual dismemberment is shown in gory detail. The video was directed by Claire Edmondson. Edmondson also directed Austra’s “Beat And The Pulse” video and Diamond Rings’ “Show Me Your Stuff” clip. Watch:

  1. I love BSS, but this video is macabre. Nothing short of what i’d expect… just didn’t expect it you know what i mean… Ah, it was a good one, love the song. Later.

  2. Aren’t these the same people that were tweeting snarky comments about Tyler the Creator’s “shock” tactics a couple of weeks ago during the Tegan & Sara thing; and now they post a video that is basically what Tyler raps about.

Talk about the pc-indie double-standard. Is this really different because it’s a little white girl?

I love BSS, but hypocrite is what comes to mind.

    • I totally agree! Kanye West’s gory video last week didn’t make me suddenly start liking his music…I doubt this gore fest will bring BSS any new fans just because of its shock value. Epic fail!! I love this song – one of my favorites for that album…too bad I won’t be watching the video again any time soon.

    • this video actually isn’t “basically” the same thing as tyler’s homophobic lyrics at all actually. educate yourself.

      • You are wrong. It would take too long to explain why. Listen to “Blow” for a clue. In the words of fellow uninformed net trolls, “educate yourself”.
