Björk - Crystalline

“Crystalline” is the first single from Bjork’s Biophilia, the iPad-inspired multi-media LP that will celebrate “how sound works in nature, exploring the infinite expanse of the universe, from planetary systems to atomic structure.” So if there’s not an app for that already, there will be. Take a listen below.

The track’s out officially 6/30.

Björk will debut more Biophilia over six shows at the Manchester International Festival beginning Thursday. Here via is the first look at one of her costumes:

  1. no one, absolutely no one, sounds like björk. this is the music of the future.

  2. I agree. This is brilliant pop music. And the last 20 seconds are mindblowing.

  4. My mind is so blown right now!

  5. Really impressed! The percussive “freak out” at the end of the track easily supplants any sonic moment on Volta. This whole album/project/app(?) sounds very ambitious…

  6. Anybody else feel the song was much better before that DnB break at the end?

I can only assume you’ve never heard a Venetian Snares album if you were impressed by that at all. The dude was doing that kind of stuff years ago.

  7. I, overall, really like the song. It definitely takes risks, and you have to admire Bjork for that. Just when the song sounds like another Joga, she picks you up on her dragon and takes you into outer space.

  8. Funny how the ‘music of the future’ sounds the same as it did 15 years ago to me. Will this single be released as a box set?

  9. why the fuck would you call Bjork “pop” music? her music in no way should ever be considered “pop”
get the fuck outta here with that bullshit!
