This past Friday Archers Of Loaf arrived in good form on Fallon for a spirited run through of “Wrong” from their soon-to-be-reissued 1993 full-length debut Icky Mettle. (I still have the ’92 “Wrong” b/w “South Carolina” 7″ because I turned 70 today.) Interesting to hear Eric Bachmann put what he learned as a vocalist in Crooked Fingers, etc., into this older music. The reissued Icky Mettle is out 8/2 via Merge. (Pre-order now.) It was remastered by Bob Weston, features liner notes by Robert Christgau, and includes bonus material (Archers Of Loaf vs. The Greatest Of All Time EP, singles, B-Sides, etc.). See them live:
