Mirror MIrror

It’s fitting that Mirror Mirror’s new album Interiors, following up 2009′s The Society For The Advancement Of Inflammatory Consciousness, exists in two parts, reflecting the outre-pop unit’s dualistic, coinciding intentions. There’s the programmed-beat half, created by the band’s core duo of David Riley and Ryan Lucero and produced by contemporary studio luminary Chris Coady (Gang Gang, Beach House, YYYs, Zola Jesus), and there’s the live-drummed remainder, for which Mirror Mirror becomes a trio-band compliments of kit work by Josh da Costa. (You may recognize him from BTW Regal Degal, or from the right side of that promo photo above.) We have the title track for you, which “describes a recluse,” but does so with an expansive sound with all the ringing, tom-drummed dramatics of an electro-tricked TV On The Radio show stopper. Big on the inside:

Interiors is out physically 8/16 and digitally 8/30 via RVNG. Get teased by this teaser:

  1. Awesome song! Not completely sure about the picture of the band though…
