As mentioned earlier this month, James Franco is releasing a dance EP, because of course he is. He and Kalup Linzy have put together three tracks with a production credit going to DJ /rupture, whose “Dutty Artz label is releasing the duo’s 7″. There are going to be music videos for each cut, the first of which, for “Rising,” is below. If you want to see pristine views of James Franco you’re better off enrolling in a nearby college’s grad program (because of how he is always taking so much college!) — here he is blurred and in the background while Kalup has some dragged-up green screen fun over an electro slow jam with Franco on background vocals:
Here’s a statement from Linzy about the project (via P4K):
James and I have collaborated for over a year. He contributed vocals during recording sessions. He and I also exchanged video and vocals… James and I have both felt that sometimes developing projects separately and then bringing the other in later helps move the projects along. He is busy with school and films and I pretty much travel the world year round. We’re not planning to tour or anything like that for the EP. The music is a part of an ongoing collaboration.
Now you know.
