The inaugural Escape To New York takes place August 5-7 at Shinnecock Reservation in Southampton, NY. The Hamptons-based festival was curated by Fred Fellowes, the creative director and founder of The Secret Garden Party, UK. The lineup features Patti Smith, Best Coast, the Psychedelic Furs, of Montreal, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Mates of State, Lissy Trullie, Chairlift, White Rabbits and others. We have one (1) pair of tickets to give away. As a bonus, the winner also receives stage-side access to Patti Smith, Edward Sharpe, of Montreal, and Best Coast’s sets as well as a free campsite on the grounds (they’re pretty posh). The festival features some truly unique elements as well, aiming to be more of a Hamptons weekend getaway, than a traditional music festival. Catered by Silkstone, the festival will feature same dishes that have become staples at the group’s legendary Lower East Side restaurant, The Fat Radish. Art Installations, chosen by Winkel & Balktick will be sprinkled throughout the festival as well. There’s also a ton more going on with festival, including performance artists, luxury camping (aka. “glamping”), an intimate acoustic stage, DJs, and a speaker tent.
