The swirling, spiraling “Midnight City” is our first taste of M83′s forthcoming double album Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming (10/18, Mute). The record was produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Beck, NIN, The Mars Volta, Goldfrapp) and features Medicine’s Brad Laner on guitar, Saturdays=Youth vocalist Morgan Kibby, and a guest vocal spot from Zola Jesus. Gonzalez had this to say about it: “I think it is a reflection of my 30 years of being a human being. It’s a compilation of all my previous music together. It’s a retrospective of myself.”
