This past Friday night, Moz took the stage at La Laiterie in Strasbourg, France, sans Je Suis Morrissey tee, but armed with good tidings and evidence of work being underway on the next studio effort. We’ve been charting “That’s How People Grow Up” through its many and varied incarnations (which will be on the upcoming Greatest Hits along with “All You Need Is Me”) which means the song not about Paris Hilton and these two are set to make studio premieres on the forthcoming LP. Sadly the best we can do here is cellphone video, which despite being of impressive quality and duration for a cellphone, leaves a little something to be desired (clarity, decent audio, etc.). “Mama” appears to be a Moz/Alain Whyte composition, fleshed out here with a bow-tied band and set to a marching, military beat. It’s just so lonely here without you, mama.

The slightly more frantic “Something Is Squeezing My Skull,” from the same show, after the jump. As for what’s doing the skull squeezing, Moz rattles off diazepam, valium, lithium. These are a few of our favorite things!

More on the proper album when we’ve got it.
