Last month, the Flaming Lips got together with Providence noise kings Lightning Bolt to release a collaborative EP and drop the skree-bomb video for “I Wanna Get High But I Don’t Want Brain Damage.” Now they’ve posted the second video from the EP, and it’s mostly a more straightforward affair. That’s not really saying much, though.
The seven-minute “I’m Working At NASA On Acid” goes from spaghetti-western psych jam to noise freakout and back again. During the psych-rock bits, the video is all expertly edited footage of the bands lip-syncing in a white room with a bunch of balloons in it. But when things turn weird, directors Delo Creative switch to a loving, extended close-up of some dude’s face, blown back by an industrial strength wind machine and covered in what looks like Pepto-Bismol. It’s pretty gross. You’ve been warned.

Reminds me of old school Lips, very cool
Really cool one and melodious like that great airwoman Performing Rolling In The Deep.

Pink balloons. Spy v Spy. Strawberry milkshake. Psychedelic mindmelt. Can’t get enough Lip action.
