Lou Reed & Metallica Unveil Album Cover

The same Lou Reed + Metallica website that set out inspiration for this collaborative project’s Lulu LP (“German expressionist writer Frank Wededkind’s plays ‘Earth Spirit’ and ‘Pandora’s Box,’ which tell a story of a young abused dancer’s life and relationships and are now collectively known as the ‘Lulu Plays.'”) has given us the album’s cover image. That’s it above. You can read “young abused dancer” into the limbless mannequin’ bust and blood-smeared album title scrawl, or you could just feel badly for the mannequin that it doesn’t have limbs with which to scratch her head about the project like the rest of us. This whole thing is gonna be so weird! I’m not sure it’ll be good, per se, but still, can’t wait to hear it. (Lou himself has no such reservations: It’s “the best thing I ever did.” James Hetfield responded thusly.)
