Feist - Metals

Feist has a new album called Metals coming out, and we’ve already heard one song from it, “How Come You Never Go There.” Last night, in front of a loudly approving crowd at L.A.’s Del Monte Townhouse, Feist sang that one, as well as a bunch of other Metals songs. The pastoral folk group Mountain Man backed her up.

There’s a bit of stylistic variation in these tunes: Some garage-rock throb in “A Commotion,” some soul-music sway in “Woe Be.” For the most part, though, these tracks, on first listen, sound primed to own dinner parties and TV commercials the way the ones on The Reminder did. We’ve got some videos below.

Metals is out 10/4 on Cherrytree/Interscope.
