Fool’s Gold Day Off (A-Trak, Araabmuzik, Juicy J, Et Al) @ City Winery, NYC 9/5/11

Though the sound system was never totally en pointe, or though the fact that many of the featured rappers didn’t do much actual rapping, yesterday’s Fool’s Gold day off was a pretty fun scene punctuated by many interesting moments, ranging from bizarre to stupendously entertaining. The day’s events featured sets from pint-sized beat banger Araabmuzik, art-rap weirdo Danny Brown, drug rap don/Three 6 Mafia overlord Juicy J as well as DJ appearances by A-Trak and Just Blaze, among many others. When local upstart ASAP Rocky came out, the show broke down pretty quickly—forming a circle pit at a free Labor Day hang typically does that. But everyone there got significantly Trippy, Mane. I took a video for Rubba Band Business 2 track “Who Da Neighbors?” that conveys the general vibe pretty well, I feel. Check that below, along with photos above by Mr. Ryan Muir.
