Pearl Jam

You knew Pearl Jam wasn’t going to let their 20th anniversary nostalgia-fest end without breaking us off with some new shit, right? Last night, the band showed up on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, where Pearl Jam Twenty director Cameron Crowe was also guesting, and debuted a fired-up new track called “Olé.” It’s one of those vintage head-down Pearl Jam ragers, like “Not For You” or “Spin The Black Circle,” and it’s fun. After performing the show on Fallon, the band also posted a free MP3 of it, so there’s that, too.

Also, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention “Balls In Your Mouth.” On his show last night, Jimmy Fallon played a version of his BP oil spill protest song, and both Eddie Vedder and the Roots chimed in to turn it into a gospel-edged throwdown. It sounds… kind of good? We’ve got the MP3 of “Olé” and the videos of the two performances below. (And speaking of Pearl Jam Twenty, PBS has a preview up.)

  1. they have a few bugs to work out on this one…but it’s still BOMB. 20 years later, they still rock harder than your fav band.

  2. Look out U2, there is a new Spanish hook in town. Hey PJ, see you on the next ipod commercial.

  3. New “shit” is the right.

  4. i spent a good portion of my life defending Pearl Jam, but that song is terrible. Jimmy fallon should start writing their songs. and to mr. slippers; Oasis didn’t invent that riff either.

  5. People always have to say something negative. I have always been in defense of Pearl Jam as well. I still am. If you have to hate, then why say anything at all?

  6. Super excited about the documentary…they have a Spotify playlist featuring a new track, “Blood,” check it out!!
