President’s Day is becoming a big going away party for Yeasayer. Tomorrow, they’re off to conquer Europe with their chants and yearns and hipster-hippie preaching, and already we paused to marvel at their powerful Conan performance. Now we get a gorgeously animated video for “Wait For The Summer,” which uses the bands’ silhouettes and insects to portray the circle of life in this apple-oriented universe. (It’ll make a little more sense when you watch it.)Directed by Mixtape Club.

I love the video for all of it’s beauty, but I hate that hyper-speed mix of the track. I understand they were trying to shave a minute off it because it’s an animated video, but the rerecord version feels like Yeasayer’s barreling through their own song like they’ve got somewhere else to be.

I agree with Ju Bean. The video is awesome, but the speed of the song takes a little away from it. I really like how the silhouettes singing and dancing rise as they sing “I’m risin’ risin’ fallin’.”

I actually dig the sped up version of the song. I think their is a time and place for each, kinda like Broken Social Scene’s “Major Label Debut”.

Great video. From a great album, but really..it’s pretty clear this band will never top 2080. We’ve already heard their best.
