Stream Twin Sister's 'In Heaven'

The last time we checked in on dreamy Long Island pop outfit Twin Sister, they were putting out the vibrant clip for In Heaven’s lead single, “Bad Street.” Now, we’ve got the entirety of Twin Sister’s new record available for streaming, and its apparent from early along that In Heaven is an especially mature, sharp rendering of effervescent, bewitching pop. The band tackles a variety of pop-laden ideas, from the James Bond-movie swagger of “Spain” to the sultry swing of “Gene Ciampi.” Kind of screams early autumn, maybe? So the timing is pretty damn good.

I’m a bit underwhelmed myself, too. It isn’t as much of a disappointment as I thought it would be following my initial response to “Bad Street,” though. That song sounds like a lackluster outtake of Deerhoof and Blonde Redhead persuasions. “Kimmi In a Rice Field” is the highlight here for me, but overall the direction Twin Sister goes in here isn’t really my thing.

  2. Oh shit, can’t wait!

  3. brighton jam is now called ‘sticky mike’s frog bar’ btw

  4. you’ve got your good things, and I’ve got mine.

  5. Here’s the track list to follow along:
    01. Daniel
    02. Stop
    03. Bad Street
    04. Space Babe
    05. Kimmi In a Rice Field
    06. Luna’s Theme
    07. Spain
    08. Gene Ciampi
    09. Saturday Sunday
    10. Eastern Green

P.S. Your tour dates are out of date.

  6. Super boring. I’ll stick to their EPs.

  7. i guess I’m the only one that’s loving this

    • Nah… I’m totally digging this, been jamming it all day. Gene Ciampi is my jam of the year. I’ve been looking for a naively optimistic pop album this year, because normally I listen to incredibly depressing music, and this fit the bill.

  8. Everything about this album screams AVERAGE. If you really want latest english songs Try this site

  9. Oh wow this is pretty good. Comparing by first listens, I liked this one more than ‘Girls’ new album. Though I still haven’t “explored” all of Girls layers in their new album. But by going by first impressions this album is great and more “catchy” than Girls and St. Vincent

  10. Love love love “Kimmi in a Rice Field.”

gophermachine unwittlingly “channeled” hipster runoff “just there”

  12. I like how confident this young band seems. They’ve made a super-laid back and understated album when people are probably expecting a massive debut. I’ll admit it doesn’t deliver as many thrills as the briefer Color Your Life, but I also think I’ll be spending a lot of time with it. Good vibe.

  13. I was confused at first and then this shit became da bomb.
