Another video from Jersey girl Nicole Atkins, who’s cobbled together an interesting tastemaking coalition over the last few months by wowing Letterman (check out Dave’s pervy extended handgrab at the end!), impressing Perez (depressing that that’s news, but good for her!), and landing a music blogger thumbs up with a slot on the Hot Freaks SXSW party. The “Maybe Tonight” clip sees that ever popular female singer-songwriter music trope — girl, uninterrupted (mostly), with a cast of crazies all around, as seen recently with Basia Bulat. Nicole’s is better than Bulat’s, though because she’s got some of that good Columbia money, and because she has a knack for casting very attractive bearded ladies. Nice girl groupy tune, too.
