LAKE’s Karl Blau-produced Let’s Build A Roof hits with a misty, psychedelic nostalgia that deepens their palette. For instance, the eclectic Olympia, Washington group often sounds like an Olympia, Washington group (you know what that means, ‘k), but “Madagascar” digs into more an island feel. And I’m not talking San Juan Archipelago.

saw them live in Columbus May 2007.
all really friendly, show was really great and really fun.
go see them this fall. talk to them. listen to their tapes and albums.
same goes for Karl Blau.
one of them used to work at a coffeeshop and was always trying to get my friend to go to his shows. Funny to see them start to get some recognition. Great stuff, I’m really excited for the new album
saw lake at the IMC here in urbana, IL….amazing musicians, even better people.
rawksome.
Never heard of these guys before. Great track. Kind of reminds me of Grand Theft Bus, but a little more reggae inflicted.
Their album “Oh, The Places We’ll Go” is AMAZING. Their tape is really good, too.
Eli’s previous band Palisades has two records which are very worth checking out.
freshest pop music i’ve heard in a while. one of the very few bands featured on Pitchfork that doesn’t bore me.
