  1. pick a different big star song to cover for crissakes!!! the only thing we need less covers of than big star’s “thirteen” is LC’s “hallelujah.” van morrison had that quote about how he’s written 500 songs, and they’re all about better than brown eyed girl, and AHJ just picked the “brown eyed girl” or “hallelujah” of their catalog. elliott smith’s cover is awesome though, should have been the last one (like buckley doing hallelujah)

  2. not to mention this is a horrid cover. a bad version produced badly. thank the lord JC calls the shots in the strokes. and when JC stopped writing everything they started sucking (see: first impressions / angles)

  3. Really… who is actually buying this cd?!? And I totally agree that Big Star’s “Thirteen” is Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”". Would it have killed Hammond to have done In “The Street” ‘Mod Lang” or “Feel”? This is worse than “India Song”.

    • “thirteen” is school themed, like the article says…this record is not a cd or a vinyl, just something to buy digitally that raises money for a great cause…now you hipsters can go and be “over it” on some other music site…
