The four-man Philly synthesizer troupe get remixed by Weird Tapes, aka Tri-State Memory Tapes/Cassette pal Dayve Hawk. You can hear the synth-rock-ish original at Instamatic’s MySpace. Weird Tapes’ ambling steel-drum and spaced-out take is, well, weirder. And all the more interesting for it.

I saw Instamatic open up for Celebration here in Philly. I’d already forgotten that they existed and that was only 3 months ago.
If you’re going to write about this type of music made by Philly bands, it’d probably be better to write about Cold Cave.
