  5. I can’t believe no one said this: 29. Starlite Diner is one of my favorite Ryan Adams tunes.

  6. Cold Roses!!!

  7. Gold! I fell in love with it the first time I heard it, and it remains my favorite today.

  8. Heartbreaker

  9. Three-way tie between Jacksonville City Nights, 29, and Heartbreaker. Don’t make me pick just one.

  10. Cold Roses. But if Suicide Handbook was released, it might win.

  11. Heartbreaker. Or Stranger’s Almanac, if that counts.

  12. Cold Roses. Sometimes I’ll say Fasterpiece (Sad Dracula), but then I come to my senses and realize, “Nah, it’s always been Cold Roses.”

  13. Love is Hell, Pt 1 & Pt 2

  14. To echo Anna Edwards’ comment near the top, I’m the 6th person who loved “Rock N Roll” and it’s my favorite Ryan Adams album because of how different it was from anything else he had done up until then. But if you really listen to it, it’s not much of a departure at all….. just everything is played LOUDER and HARDER, Ryan wails his vocals to shreads and plus, synthesizers join the party. In fact, that’s what I think of this album: Ryan wanted to throw a party of a different kind, in a different part of town without forgetting where he came from, and regardless of who would show up or how it would be received.

  19. Strangers Almanac.

  20. Though all of his albums are wonderful opuses in their own right– I LOVE Love is Hell.

  21. The Suicide Handbook

  22. Strangers Almanac… if simply because it has “Avenues”

  23. Jacksonville City Nights

  24. Heartbreaker!

  25. Jacksonville City Nights

  26. Jacksonville City Nights!

  27. ‘Demolition’ or ‘Love Is Hell’. Heck, it’s a pretty hard one to call – they’re all so great!

  32. Cold Roses. But picking a favorite Ryan album is like trying to pick a favorite child. DON’T MAKE ME MAKE SUCH HARD DECISIONS, YOU GUYS.
