Bill Clinton's 20 Favorite Songs Of All Time

In the buildup to the 10th anniversary of the William J. Clinton foundation and its accompanying celebration tomorrow night in L.A., Bill himself cobbled together a playlist of his favorite songs. Though jazz-heavy, as one could imagine, it shows off a nice range of genres; Van Morrison, Elton John and Carly Simon also make the cut.

The event, which goes on tomorrow night in L.A. at the Hollywood Bowl, will feature performances by U2′s Bono and The Edge, Lady Gaga, Usher, Kenny Chesney and more.

Now for the list. Spoiler alert: No Shabazz Palaces.
Mickey Magnum – “In The Presence Of Jehovah”
Miles Davis – “My Funny Valentine”
Nina Simone – “I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free”
John Coltrane & Johnny Hartman – “My One And Only Love”
Zoot Sims – “Summertime”
Mahalia Jackson – “Take My Hand, Precious Lord”
Igor Butman – “Nostalgie”
Judy Collins – “Chelsea Morning”
David Sanborn – “Harlem Nocturne”
Phil Coulter – “The Town I Loved So Well”
Van Morrison – “Brown Eyed Girl”
Carly Simon – “I Get Along Without You Very Well”
Stan Getz with Bahai – “Charlie Byrd”
Simon & Garfunkel – “Bridge Over Troubled Water”
Sarah McLachlan – “Angel”
Elton John – “Philadelphia Freedom”
Willie Nelson – “A Song For You”
Joan Baez – “Winds Of The Old Days”
John Williams – “Concierto de Aranjuez”
Art Tatum – “There Will Never Be Another You”
The President’s Own U.S. Marine Band – “Crown Imperial”
North Texas Wind Symphony – “English Folk Song Suite”

Note: The list, put together by Yahoo!, had more than 20 songs. So we listed them all. That makes the Clinton-era economy that much more impressive, now that we know he doesn’t know how to count.

    ::scroll down::

    BROWN EYED GIRL

    (facepalm)

  3. Really expected Shaggy’s “It Wasn’t Me”

  4. You know, Bill Clinton jokes are the easiest things in the world to make, but I’m actually pretty impressed with this list. You can tell it’s a product of one person’s weird, vaguely nerded-out tastes, rather than something he got a focus group to put together for him. Willie Nelson’s version of “A Song For You” is like a rich babyboomer hippie redneck anthem; nobody picked that shit for him.

  5. I was expecting some Lady Gaga in that list, apparently he’s not a fan,LMAO!!!

  6. Nina! how can she not make anybody’s list.

  7. This list just adds to how rad Bill Clinton is.

  8. Devil with a blue dress on didnt make the list.
