A little under a month ago, when we reported on No Depression‘s demise, one of you guys commented: “At least we’ve still got Harp.” Well, now we don’t. While we were partying with PASTE at SXSW, we got the sad news that Harp is no more. We don’t have too many details now, but you can read more at The Daily Swarm. Sorry to see ya go, Harp … it’s getting harder and harder to read about music on paper.

Howard Stern and David Letterman rip 'weasel' Jay Leno (VIDEO)
So now, as the days go by and I’m continuing to harp on the PCAs…I got to thinking about it: ‘Yeah, maybe that was a little harsh’.” Letterman added that sometimes it's just best to let go: "Do I really want to spend the rest of my life fighting weasels?
The High Concept: Beast Wars!
I know that I harp on the depressing similarity of today's movie beasties ... the two-headed thing from Wrath of the Titans and the big tooth thingies from John Carter: Should be rip-snortin' fun! Over in the water bracket, how about the Kraken from ...

  1. Now I feel awful letting my subscription lapse a few months back… HARP was great. I once fell for a girl strictly because she was cute and she had a copy of HARP in her bag. R.I.P.

  2. News to me – what ballot is Grohl on?

  3. You shouldn’t feel too bad D. Magazines primarily rely on advertising support to run their operations, not subscriptions. I think Harp went under cos the suffering music industry no longer has the funds for things such as print ads. Totally sucks.

I never bought Harp, seemed like a poor man’s Paste. Until Paste became a poor man’s Paste. Since they gave away those subscriptions, they’ve tanked – cover story on Michael Jackson’s Thriller? 6 pages of a musical family tree based on naimal-named-bands? I guess you get what you pay for.

    Thank god for Mojo.

  5. mojo blows.

I can’t wait until I can get all of music news on my iPhone along with all of my music, ideas, directions and personal correspondence, and everything else I might need ever. Harp was just killing trees, man, bring the revolution.
