They announced their breakup last month, but alt-gods R.E.M. aren’t going away until they give us one last greatest-hits album. The Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage 1982- 2011 collection includes three unreleased tracks, one of which is final single “We Go Back To Where We Belong,” a prettily low-key string-drenched ballad that the band recorded after the March release of their Collapse Into Now album. Listen below right now.

Sounds like a song from the closing titles of a movie. Damn I will miss these guys.
…so niceeeee!!!!…gosh…I will miss too!!!!!
Very melodic. Love it.
This is really nice. It reminds me of the Out of Time/Automatic era.
If you insist, but know there was a reason I left there in the first place.
Thanks for the ride of my musical life.
Time to garden.
I like it the best.
Whoa. Greatness.
