Nick Diamonds and his Islands are some album details and one MP3 into the promotional swing for their forthcoming Arm’s Way followup, Vapours. Today they reveal the set’s title track, which does more in under three minutes to pique interest in the new LP than the previous weeks of PR nuggets combined. “Vapours” is Islands at their most nostalgically pop-centric, a ’60s flashback with Nick focused on proper ventilation while some triumphant Stax Records-redolent horns exhale all around him. “It’s the bassline in your mind,” but it’s the brass lines that make it a good look.
