During its eleven-day run at St. Ann’s Warehouse in Brooklyn Heights, Karen O’s opera Stop The Virgens was easily the most buzzed-about cultural event going on in NYC. Since I didn’t see it, which was a truly poor play on my behalf, I can only imagine what it was like, thanks to very little media becoming available in the period since the stage show stopped. From what I heard, it was a play that pushed her Where The Wild Things Are soundtrack explorations into more psychotic directions. Uh, yeah, that sounds awesome. Luckily, Karen O took a song from the production, “Duets,” to a recent live session at NYC alongside folk musician Jason P. Grisell. Stream the track below.
Consequence Of Sound reports that camera crews were seen filming during a few nights of the production, so we may be in luck yet.
