Puscifer on Letterman

He may be one of the most popular rock stars on planet Earth (no exaggeration), but Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan doesn’t show up on TV too often. Halloween, however, is a special time, and so Keenan chose the moment to show up on the Late Show With David Letterman with his side project Puscifer. With his feathered wig, his fake (?) mustache, and his leisure suit, Keenan seemed like he was dressed as Kenny Rogers, or maybe a late-period Allman, for the night. Letterman bandleader Paul Shaffer chipped in with a heady space-prog keyboard solo, which I didn’t know he had in him. Watch it all unfold below.

Puscifer’s self-released album Conditions Of My Parole is out now.

  1. Fun Fact:

The name Puscifer comes from the first episode of the first season of Mr. Show. In the Ronnie Dobbs sketch when they’re demonstrating Ronnie’s popularity, they cut to a band that contains Maynard and Adam Jones thrashing about and Maynard yelling, “RONNIE DOBBS RONNIE DOBBS!”

The band is captioned as Puscifer.

    P.S. stands for Paul Schaffer!!

  2. Not feelin this.

  3. Paul Schaffer stole the show…
    What happened to Maynard?

Really haven’t liked anything he has done in a long time…

  4. Who was the female that was in the band? That wasn’t Milla Jovovich was it?

  5. Have you tried his wine? Definitely doing something right there!

  6. yo fuck this dude’s whine.
