The Roots - "Make My" Video

In director Clifton Bell’s video for the Roots’ new single “Make My,” one guy gets shot a whole fuckload of times, and that’s pretty much the only thing that happens. The slow-motion black-and-white clip is just two minutes long, about half the length of the song, and it excises guest rapper Big K.R.I.T.’s verse entirely. The Roots don’t appear. According to the YouTube page, it’s one of four planned videos for the band’s new concept album undun. It’s below.

undun is out 12/6 on Def Jam.

  1. A scary yet very real looking video. My The Roots fandom started in ’99 but is increasing more as of late. Brilliant band and I hope that their relations to Def Jam will be a good one. The sound quality on this sounds tight and professional. If you only know The Roots from Fallon, get some of their stuff and realize that they are as a great a band as Radiohead when it comes to talent, productivity, originality, and pleasurable listening. Keep up the fight, Roots Crew!

  2. Can’t wait for a concept album from the roots crew. weird shooting a video just over a verse and chorus… Would have been nice to get Big KRITs verse on and the jam at the end, but whateva
