Who Should Star In The Joe Strummer Biopic?

Now that Julie Delpy (Beyond Sunrise, Beyond Sunset) is attached to direct the forthcoming Joe Strummer biopic The Right Profile, who should star as Joe? The picture above, to me, suggests a skinny Jason Segel. Anyone else seeing that? The movie allegedly focuses on Strummer after 1982, so that should certainly be considered. This post is brought to you by The Muppets, out tomorrow!

  2. He looks like that twinky kid from the Twilight flicks. I say hire that one. Piss everybody off.

Strummer didn’t do anything worth a damn after 1982 anyway, so who cares?

  3. james mcavoy (or wesley snipes)

  4. James McAvoy. I feel it should be a Brit… but Joseph-Gordon Levitt jumps out at me for some reason… and Edward Norton…

  5. Fassbender

  6. Danny Dyer! Defo think he could pull it off.

  7. YOU GUYS ARE ALL WRONG IT SHOULD BE TONY JAA AND HE SHOULD SPEND THE WHOLE MOVIE ELBOWING PEOPLE IN THE HEAD WHILE “POLICE ON MY BACK” PLAYS IN THE BACKGROUND

  8. Peter Serafinowicz.

  9. andrew garfield

  10. Hayden Panettiere

  11. Adam Sandler could play both Strummer and Mick Jones. That would be great and everyone would go see it. Also: Michael Cera.

  12. Tim Armstrong

  13. James McAvoy wins for Pre-Combat Rock Strummer
John Cusack wins for Post-Clash Strummer
Nobody wins with mohawk Strummer. Oh, that ridiculous mohawk…

  14. Paul Scheer for Mick Jones

I agree with the John Cusack option presented by others.
