Bruce Springsteen

On March 15 of next year, one Bruce Springsteen will walk into the Austin Convention Center to deliver the year’s SXSW keynote address. And even if he just blathers about factory closures and Pete Seeger for two hours, it’ll probably be worth trying to get in, because he’s motherfucking Bruce Springsteen.

In other SXSW news, the festival has unveiled a list of some of the bands playing next year’s throwdown. Right now, the list includes Thee Oh Sees, Cloud Nothings, the Men, Class Actress, Chelsea Wolfe, Com Truise, Teengirl Fantasy, Turbo Fruits, Choir Of Young Believers, Young Magic, Alabama Shakes, Psychic Ills, Marit Larsen, Shout Out Out Out, Lucero, VHS Or Beta, Fat Tony, Niki & the Dove, 120 Days, SPEAK, and — just in case you feel like getting kicked in the face — Fear. It’ll probably grow to encompass every band with a release date in the next six months. Check out the full list here.
