HEALTH and Pictureplane make for logical tour partners. They’re Lovepump labelmates, and bands to watch, and they both find creative ways to fuck with their love for making people dance. (Or at least, move.) They kicked off a month of shows together at the Troubadour in Los Angeles the other night, with Dam Funk and Mi Ami as the early openers. Pro tip: This will be a good tour to see. HEALTH always rule live, but after their time opening up Nine Inch Nails’ Wave Goodbye, they might have learned a new trick or two. In fact, just the night before this Troubadour show they joined NIN, Jane’s Addiction’s Eric Avery, and Gary Numan on a cover of Gang Of Four’s “Anthrax” at the Henry Fonda. So they learned that new trick at least. Here’s video of that (hello, big tag set), along with the 9/9/09 HEALTH/Pictureplane pictures by Andrew Youssef.

Bought Get Color the other day. Alas, I didn’t get a golden (or any other color) ticket. And i must say i’m a little saddened by that fact. But I’m still glad to give my business to Newbury Comics and my money to the band. Very clever idea. Oh, and i’m enjoying the cd. So, ya know, there’s that too.

  2. The guy in HEALTH with the stripe shirt looked like jonny greenwood for a split moment.
