Shabazz Palaces - Black Up Video

Shabazz Palaces’ new music video isn’t for a particular song off of their album Black Up; it’s for the entire album, or at least as much of it as they can fit into five minutes. The video weaves clips of music from many of the album’s songs into a visual tapestry full of gorgeous isolated images and big, sweeping Race-In-America type themes. Like the album itself, it’s as oddly beautiful as it is disorienting, and it takes on a whole lot of ideas but even more feelings. It’s pretty great. Khalil Joseph directs, and you should really seriously watch it below.

Black Up is out now on Sub Pop.
