  1. I’m liking the Liturgy opening slot. Calling them “hard rockers” is kind of not doing them justice, though, and watering down how they sound, no? That term to me has always been more something some bro at a townie bar would use to describe his love of Staind or Buckcherry.

Suitable replacements include: “Polarizing black metal makers,” “transcendental black metalheads”

  2. This is an amazing line-up. Incredibly jealous they’re only touring florida

    • It’s kind of nuts to see that many tour dates can go down in just Florida. Is this common in that state? I noticed another band (Ceremony — I know, I know, shut up about Ceremony already!) is doing the same thing to an extent right now. No one ever plays near me, let alone half a dozen dates.

      • No, it’s not. There are some artists that tend to tour Florida a lot (Tori Amos has started/ended a lot of her tours there, and I have a fair amount of memories from high school of the popular kids getting psyched to see Dave Matthews… and I think Jimmy Buffet played a lot too?), but even then I think that tends to be 3 or 4 cities at most. I was definitely psyched when I moved to Boston about how many more bands play here… though I should also point out that the number of bands I pay attention has also increased exponentially over the past couple years, starting before I moved to Boston, and the FL town I was in before moving didn’t have tons in the way of live music, except when Foreigner or whatever would come play in a circus arena or Greyhound track–true story!
That being said, when I was in Tallahassee, there were a fair number of indie/less popular bands that came through.

      • I think it happens more often in Fl because that’s where they have homes/family. Derek Miller is from Miami and has roots in South Fla. From his PTW days. Tori Amos has a primary home north of Palm Beach; Jimmy Buffett, members of Dave Matthews, Foreigner, & Alan Jackson, Beyonce, etc. all have houses/ live in South FL. Perhaps it’s the dichotomy of the people that breeds music, and their families, Homestead laws and tax breaks that keeps them returning for more.

  3. If only this tour went anywhere outside of Florida… Diplo and Sleigh Bells are two of my favorites!
