Drizzy cruises the Bay in the clip for Take Care bonus cut “The Motto,” a track whose video version now features YMCMB’s Tyga. Direct homage is paid to E-40, who nods in approval in the background. Do I need to get some batting gloves? Watch the video, directed by Lamar Taylor and Hyghly Alleyne, below.
Take Care is out now on Young Money. “The Motto” video caps a prolific night for the OVOXO crew, whose own Weeknd put out Echoes Of Silence last night.

Leopard print North Face…!?!? You da man, Drake… but really?!?
With a Supreme logo tacked on for good measure.
Oh Drizzy.
Canadian boys get it done.
Is Drake about to get Hyphy?
This song would pretty much be Hyphy music if Drake didn’t rap so slowly. Drake, You the man, but I don’t think you’re cut out for Hyphy.
wtf is hyphy?
Hyphy is a form of Rap from the Bay area, pioneered by Mac Dre, Keak da Sneak, and others. E-40 made it almost popular around 2006. It’s really energetic, reflecting all the ecstasy these dudes where taking, and it’s incredibly fun to dance to. they still play a lot of that stuff at dance parties where i live in Portland, Oregon. Here are some examples:
Keak da Sneak: Super Hyphy

Mac Dre: Thizzle Dance

E-40: Tell Me When To Go

this video has Mac Dre’s mom providing the intro and E-40 appearing, and the beat is nearly Hyphy. looks like drake’s doing a little bit of a tribute to the movement. plus, “I’m in the buildin and I’m feelin myself” comes from another Mac Dre song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xv_R6_TLoFc
word up, good stuff
I’m really into this.
Who’s the woman in the beginning?
