Chairlift - Something

Shapeshifiting indie rockers Chairlift have tried out a number of different looks on songs like “Amanaemonesia,” “Sidewalk Safari” and “Met Before.” Now their entire new record is streaming at KCRW. It’s their first since since 2008′s Does You Inspire You, and their first as a duo. (You can catch erstwhile member Aaron Pfenning covering “Wicked Game” with Maeby Fünke while he’s prepping his solo debut LP as Rewards for DFA.)

Something’s out in the States 1/24 via Columbia (and the day before in the UK via Young Turks).

  1. You don’t link to websites other than your own?

  2. pretty awesome. some awe n shit was what i felt.

  3. I know it’s annoying that it streams as one track, but “Frigid Spring,” y’all. That’s a big standout for me.

  4. this album is really great! can’t believe i didn’t get into them last time around

    • Yeah I saw them open for Peter, Bjorn, and John on the “Living Thing” tour and it did absolutely nothing for me. I really think this album sounds noticeably different than the first though, so that might be why.

I am pleasantly surprised by this. I’m really enjoying it.

  5. Is it me or is “Sidewalk Safari” incredibly catchy? I just came across a live video of it and HAD to pass it on. I’m so glad I found out about these guys :D

  6. loving “amanaemonesia”! so excited to hear more from “something” on tuesday! check out an awesome session here:
