Leonard Cohen - Old Ideas

Original poetry-folk master Leonard Cohen has a new album called Old Ideas coming out next week, and three songs of it have already found their way to the internet: “Show Me The Place,” “Darkness,” and “Going Home,” all great. And now the entire 10-song, 42-minute LP is streaming at NPR. I’ve been listening all morning, and it should craggily beautiful on first pass. Click over here to hear it.

Old Ideas is out 1/31 on Columbia.

  3. The Old Ideas with New Friends recordings have been phenomenal so far… I think my favorite has to be Greg Dulli’s rendition of “Paper Thin Hotel” http://www.rollingstone.com/videos/new-and-hot/greg-dulli-sings-leonard-cohens-paper-thin-hotel-20120124

  4. Mr. Cohen is more than just a legendary musical artist. He’s an inspiration. A role model. A hero. A work of art. One of the last threads of a musical gentleman that we are still holding onto. I think a revolution could form in Leonard’s name. An attempt to regain what was once considered great music. Rejoice, friends, let’s cherish this great man’s career and his ability to put out a brand new album that will claim a place on the shelf next to his antique LP’s.
