We’ve already heard, and rendered judgement on, “Tattoo,” the first single from the forthcoming Van Halen/David Lee Roth fence-mending effort A Different Kind Of Truth. And now Van Halen have posted a 90-second preview for the portentously titled “Blood And Fire,” another song from the album. Sammy Hagar, who never tells lies, has already noted that the songs on this forthcoming album are built from shreds of ancient, unused Van Halen tunes, and this new one is no exception; it’s based on the 1984-era instrumental demo “Ripley.” Hard to say whether that’s better or worse than a bunch of new Van Halen tunes. Listen below.
A Different Kind Of Truth is out 2/7 on Interscope.

Man, that is the most generic “old rocker dudes” album cover ever.
Oh god…
I think most band over 50 are using the same graphis designer….Oh yeah, and this song sucks!
You can say that again.
Nice one…

Graphic…
Too bad it’s not a Niney cover. That would have been pretty cool.

Like it or not Tom, Sammy been right about everything so far. This song sounds like the horrible selling(look it up) garbage Roth regurgitated on his solo albums.
“Sammy’s been right about everything so far.”Jeez… Takes some of the umph out of your comment when there’s a typo. Just watch this terrible Roth video.
