Portland home-recording type Casey Dienel has carved out a niche for herself making evocative, elliptical music as White Hinterland. This makes her basically the opposite of Katy Perry, whose “Teenage Dream” is the sort of anthemic big-pop yowler that you can get stuck in your head just by reading the title. But as part of a new Daytrotter session, Dienel successfully converted “Teenage Dream” into something that belongs in her sound-world. Listen to it at Disco Naïveté.
