DOSA HUNT, A Film By Amrit Singh

Since last summer, our Amrit Singh has been making an independent short film called Dosa Hunt, starring Das Racist’s Himanshu Suri and Ashok Kondabolu, Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij, Yeasayer’s Anand Wilder, Neon Indian’s Alan Palomo, and NYC jazz stalwart Vijay Iyer, and himself. It chronicles a day spent by the group in pursuit of NYC’s finest version of South Indian staple dish, dosa. They roll deep in the Dosa Van, traveling throughout the boroughs to sample various takes on the dish. That’s the Anil Gupta-designed logo up top. The trailer’s out today, watch it below, and follow the Tumblr, which is also the official Dosa Hunt website.

  5. I will admit that my thought process got the best of me. I thought that the trailer was going to be a music announcement for the best Indi(e)an super group ever. Please make this happen if it already isn’t “secretly” happening. You at least have my assurance that Dosa Hunt is a badass name.

  6. I feel sorry for you guys. I’m in Mumbai and get the best dosas like 5 mins from my place.

  7. I love that Alan is an honorary Indian.
